Does every little boy dream of being a firefighter? I know that Morris talks about it all the time. It was an easy decision what he would be for Halloween. He pointed to all the firefighter costumes in any Halloween magazine that arrived in the mail.
Our costume arrived about a month early and Morris started donning it immediately Every day he would put out a fire in the backyard or use his chainsaw like an ax to cut down unwanted trees. He couldn't wait until Halloween arrived to tell him about all the surprises we had in store.
Each day on our way to preschool we drive by Fire Station #1 in Gadsden. Morris' eyes light up when he sees the firetrucks and especially if the fireman are standing around outside. I knew it would be a huge surprise if we went to the fire station on Halloween dressed in his fire suit.
After taking quick Halloween pictures at our house, we were off to Station #1. The fireman were so nice to Morris (fireman) and Thomas (fire pup). They welcomed them into the station and gave them a guided tour of the firetrucks. Morris was beaming from ear-to-ear.
It is so nice to live in a town where we not only have great fire protection, but we have great firemen. They were kind, generous, and showed such enthusiasm toward Morris and Thomas. They didn't have to do all they did, but they took a few minutes out of their day to make a 3 year old and 1 year old so happy. It was a day they won't soon forget.
