A Family Birthday for Morris

Morris is such a lucky boy. We thought that since he was turning two, it was only fitting for him to have two birthday parties. His first birthday party was a friend party... boy, was it a blowout. There will be more information to come on the friend party... On Morris' real birthday, December 26th, we had a small party with our parents. As you can imagine, our boy was WILD! He still was very active playing with all his Santa Toys. He just could not seem to settle down during the day to take a nap. When we laid him in his crib, he "worked" on his crib the entire time with his hammer and screwdriver. Since he did maintenance work during nap time, you can image what a little stinker we had come party time. Once Grand, Pop, Kaki, and Bud arrived all madness broke loose. Morris opened his present from Kaki and Bud... a mint julep cup. Kaki and Bud are giving Morris a mint julep cup for every birthday. I am very jealous of the collection he is going to have one day. Since Morris can't have a mint julep, he had a delicious birthday punch in his julep cup... yummy! We quickly thought we should start pictures while everyone looked nice. Morris was happy to sit on top of his birthday drum and hold up his two fingers for being two. (Morris is getting a big boy bedroom for his birthday. The pieces are coming in one-by-one. The drum side table is what we took our pictures with to celebrate.) After pictures, we sat right down for dinner. For Christmas Kaki had cooked a delicious meal, but I couldn't eat it due to being sick. She decided to bring over the Christmas food to celebrate Morris' birthday. It was delicious: beef tenderloin, mashed potato casserole, green bean bundles, fruit, and of course dessert. Morris was pretty rotten as we ate birthday dinner. He threw is fork... he tossed some toys... I'm sure he made sure Louis got a lick of something... It was not our most pleasant eating experience. At the end of the meal, it was time for the best part... dessert. We had decided on hot fudge sundae's. Morris was not into it. He just wanted to play with his toys. Grand thought of a "genius" way to get Morris to eat his dessert. He dipped his pacifier in the ice cream and licked it off... can we say yummy! I am trying to make the pacifier less interesting not more interesting... oh well... no matter what it was very cute to see Morris dipping and licking! After everyone had left for the night, Morris ran around the house playing with toys and being an absolute mess. People talk of the Terrible Two's... We are there and hanging on for dear life! Please hope the "terrible" part of two ends before Thomas arrives in April!
