Young Two's

Thomas' first day of school was Tuesday in the Young Two's class with Mrs. TeLeah and Mrs. Kristi. I was a little nervous about how Thomas would adjust.

Thomas went over the summer one day a week on Tuesday. I used the summer as an adjustment period for Thomas. I wanted him to get used to leaving me. I also wanted him to get used to staying awake from 9am-1pm. At the beginning of the summer, he still needed his morning nap. The summer was the perfect transition. Summer school was filled with many tears, struggling through no nap, and learning that momma always comes back for me.

Although it went well this summer, I was still a little nervous about Tuesday... new room, new teachers, and we had been out of "summer school" for 3-4 weeks. The thing that was the most alarming, is that Thomas is the youngest in his class. He has an April birthday, which is not considered late, but when the majority of the classes birthday's are six months ahead of you. You seem like a baby compared to them.

When Mrs. TeLeah loaded my car at 1pm, I was hopeful, yet cautious... Mrs. TeLeah said Thomas had a great day. A few highlights:

- he sat in a chair like a big boy

- he loved his lunch and ate every bite

- he fed himself his lunch

- he only cried for momma a few times and was easily comforted

Sweet Thomas... we are so proud of you... way to be a big boy today!
