Big Church and Sunday School

Morris is such a big boy. Last week was "Promotion Sunday" at church. It was a mixed bag of emotions for us as Morris left the nursery and is now off to be a big boy at church.

Morris was not great in the nursery until he was about 18 months. He enjoyed screaming, crying, and wanting momma. Enter Mrs. Barbara... Mrs. Barbara was Morris' saving grace in the nursery. He loves Mrs. Barbara. Today at three and a half years old, he still has the same routine with Mrs. Barbara every Sunday. He walks into the nursery, picks out his favorite books, and they read together. She calls him her "sugar baby" and "little tumble weed".

There will always be another Morris in the nursery: someone who cries, someone who carries around a bag of paci's, someone who needs a little extra attention. But for us, the nursery and Mrs. Barbara were wonderful. It allowed Jared and I to have time to learn more about God and to foster our relationship. We are so grateful for everything the nursery did to help Morris adjust. We brought our favorite nursery girls thank you cookies to celebrate the occasion.

He sported his new Quiet Bag full of snacks, super hero's, trucks, and papers to keep him occupied. He came home telling me all about the scriptures. He wasn't quiet sure what it meant to "eat God's word". We had to discuss this quiet a few times.

Morris is excited about his new role in the church and we are excited about him learning more about God.
