War Eagle... our house has been preparing for football season for weeks. Morris has been wearing his football uniform, leading the house in cheers, and telling Thomas about how much fun we are going to have in Auburn this fall.
One of the final steps left in preparing for football season 2012, is attending the Etowah Auburn Alumni Meeting. The meeting is a local gathering of Auburn Alumni from long ago to present. We always have a great time. About every other year, a very special guest visits the alumni meeting... AUBIE! This year it was rumored that Aubie would be in attendance. Yet, the Alumni Club could not get a final confirmation on Aubie's schedule and if he would be near Gadsden. 24 hours before the meeting the announcement was made: boys and girls, don your Auburn attire, because Aubie will be here soon!
Of course with our crew, we could NOT tell them. It would be like the time I slipped up and told Morris that Santa was coming. Big mistake, up all night waiting for Santa. We would have been up all night waiting on Aubie. Instead, I opted for a great nights sleep, a busy day of playing, and a wonderful two hour nap before breaking the exciting news.
Jared and I put on our orange and blue... Morris and Thomas wore their Aubie outfits... and we were off to a great night. - Morris was wild with excitement and enthusiasm. He could not contain himself. All he wanted to do was play with Aubie, talk with him, and unfortunately pull on his tail a little. Thomas was a little unsure of Aubie, but he made it through a few pictures.
The football season has now kicked off. We can't wait to beat Clemson in the Georgia Dome... WAR EAGLE!
