When the Sun Goes Down

When the sun goes down and the moon shines bright, the carnival lights glisten in the sky. The lights of the local carnival sparkle in the eyes of my three year old. Morris is drawn to a carnival; maybe I am too. There is something magical as a child or adult about spinning around, flying in the air, throwing your head back to laugh, and feeling the breeze through your hair.

I am well aware that the carnival was put up in two days. Yes, it is not the safest carnival. I did not expect it to be Six Flags or better yet, Disney World. What I did expect was for Morris and Thomas to have a wonderful time.

He loved riding the elephants, running through the mouse maze, spinning in the bears, and feeling what it was like to be in an animal cage. I was with him every step of the way. Watching him carefully and trying to capture the magic. Oh to be three again...
