In Like a Lion... Out Like a Lamb

April has definitely held true to the weather statement of: In Like a Lion and Out Like a Lamb. The weather in Alabama has been deadly this April. I am sure many of you know of the tornado's that tore through the State of Alabama this week. The tornado's in the South are nothing like you see storm chasers going after in the Midwest. We typically do not see the "cloud wall" fall due to the mountains in Northern Alabama. The tornado's this week were out of a Midwest handbook... We could see tornado's dropping on the television and every time a tornado touched down... lives were taken, homes were destroyed, and many parts of Alabama will never be the same. The tornado's started around 6 am on Wednesday and did not stop until around 10 pm that night. There were so many tornado's in the atmosphere that the television could not keep up. - Our family was blessed and very lucky. We are all still alive and living in perfect conditions. Most of the day we were pretty safe in Gadsden until around 7 pm. Morris was in the bathtub, Thomas was eating, the television was blaring... our house was wild. While we are lucky that we have a basement, it is truly more like a cellar. Morris knows that it is down there, but we never allow him to go downstairs. As we were watching the television we knew it was time to go to our "safe-place". We decided to gather in the hall right by the basement door. We were close enough that if the tornado was around us we could go down, but in a closed hallway to remain safe. As the thunder roared, lighting struck, and rain poured down, our family remained safe... Morris playing with puzzles and Thomas watching every moment. - God thank you for the beautiful sunshine these last two days as a reminder that you are all around us. The lion has roared in April and devastated our state.... but the promise of the lamb is also all around us.
