We Believe in Auburn and LOVE It!

I can't remember a time when I didn't believe in Auburn... and more importantly, I can't remember a time when I didn't love Auburn. I know that everyone loves their school, their alma mater, their home-team, but if you have never been to Auburn, you have never experienced a place that is truly magical. The 2010 football season at Auburn was special and unique. Everyone knew when we started the season our team and our fans were electric... you could not deny it. Now, that doesn't mean we played some close games, too close, but there was always some spark around us. The eagle flew higher and longer, the sky was always orange and blue, the band was loud, Aubie was enthusiastic, and the players were a team... the energy was high all season. On Monday, our wild season came to an end in Glendale, Arizona at The National Championship Game. I'm too pregnant to travel, but Jared and Bud went to represent the Gladden/Morris household and cheer on our tigers. Bud, had a "great" idea, ha! There were charter flights leaving the Birmingham Airport early Monday morning. They would arrive at the stadium for the Tiger Walk, pregame festivities, and watch the game. The charter would then load back up and head to Birmingham. Jared and Bud were planning a full 24 hour excursion to watch the game. Well... the 24 hour excursion turned into 13 hours of flight delays, tons of packs of peanut butter crackers eaten, 2 inches of ice on the Birmingham runway... but it ended in an Auburn Victory. Jared and Bud were exhausted when they arrived in Glendale. Their flight was so late they didn't make it to the game until the first Auburn touchdown. They walked into the stadium as Kodi Burns was scoring. Both of them said their adrenalin kicked in and they were ready "do what we do" and cheer on our team. They both cheered so hard and loud, they lost their voice. The stadium was so loud.. Jared texted me that he lost his "winning" visor for a brief moment. After a touchdown they were celebrating and his visor feel off and he had a "sports injury" while jumping up and down. Not to worry, he quickly found the visor! After a long and exciting day, our Auburn Tigers won the 2010 BCS National Title. Jared and Bud said it was truly a special moment it was all family and everyone was all in. The stadium was 50-70 percent Auburn. They said at the end of the game it was just like a home game in our stadium. The crowd was jumping, crying, cheering, and celebrating like they had just left it all on the field, the field where dreams were made! Jared and Bud loaded the bus to head back to the airport. Jared said the bus was rocking it was so loud with cheers from "Weagle" to T-Will's "Tiger Walk". They ended up spending most of the night in the airport because their flight for Birmingham didn't end up leaving until 5am. When they arrived back in Alabama, the journey was not over. They had to drive on ice and snow to make it back to Gadsden. When they pulled up at the house, there was a spark in the air. Although they were tired and exhausted, they had just seen our tigers win the National Championship... War Eagle!
