Dr. Rick and Dr. Metz

Morris had two doctor's appointments this week. We saw Dr. Rick, our pediatrician, for Morris' 18 month checkup. We also visited Dr. Metz, the pediatric eye doctor, to check Morris' vision. After two days in a row of visiting the doctor, Morris was exhausted. We received great news from both Dr. Rick and Dr. Metz.

Dr. Rick...
- Morris weighs 25.8 pounds (66th percentile). Morris' weight is starting to level out considering at one time he was in the 98th percentile.
- Morris is 33 inches tall (44th percentile). Our genes are starting to show. Morris was in the 95th percentile for height at some points. He probably won't be the tallest boy in his class.
- Dr. Rick said Morris speaks well for his age and is very active. He told us that be thinks 18 months is one of the hardest ages. We agreed.
- We were also told that it is fine to put Morris in timeout. He has already experienced timeout and is not a fan.
- At the end of the visit, Morris got upset at Nurse Joan. She gave Morris three shots. We have to go back for one more. This was the first visit that Morris cried when he received the shots.

Dr. Metz...
Morris has been visiting Dr. Metz since he was a newborn. We started seeing Dr. Metz when we realized that Morris has ptosis of the left eye. On our initial visit we also learned that Morris was very far-sighted. This was our best visit with Dr. Metz. We have been released and are not to return until Morris is starting kindergarten.
- Morris' vision is now in the normal range. He sees as well as any other 18 month old.
- His ptosis continues to only be minimal and does not hinder his vision. We will go back when he enters kindergarten.

Jared and I were pleased about the news we received from both Dr. Rick and Dr. Metz. We are blessed to have a beautiful boy who is progressing perfectly, except he is sitting in timeout as I type for pinching Louis, ugh...

  1. We go to Dr Metz too! We got glasses and we now have a cool patch we get to wear a few hours a day! Praying for a day when we get to have no glasses! They are cute though.
Congrats on being released until Kindergarten! Woo hoo, I know that made you happy!
Love reading your blog! Morris is so cute!
