Kicking Off The Season

Our family loves going to Auburn games.  Some people have beach condos, some people have mountain houses, we have a game-day condo... We love our condo and going to Auburn.

We decided when I was pregnant with Morris that having a condo was the way to go.  Don't ask me why it took my parents 27 years to figure this out.  We have always gone to Auburn and loved it.  But going to Auburn with a condo is a whole new world.  Yes, we walk bye those beautiful white tents outside the stadium with tv's, fans, and catered food.  I think those are great.  But, we love being able to tailgate in the air conditioning/heat, having a bathroom, having beds to allow the boys to nap in, walking a few blocks to the stadium, and being able to stay all weekend as a family.

Kaki says it is like a circus or Disney World when we are at the condo.  The boys adore everything.  All the toys seem new and the activities are endless.  She doesn't understand why we are saving our money to go to Disney World when we can just go to the condo, ha!

The first game of the season is always the best.  It is like your birthday.  The anticipation builds for weeks.  There is organization, planning, an packing. But oh when you get there, it is great!

Our first game this year was a little different.  Bud and Kaki were inducted into the Samford Society for giving.  Jared and Bud normally come in late on Friday night, but they arrived earlier in the day so Kaki and Bud could prepare for their induction.  Jared and I took the boys downtown during the induction for Auburn Autumn Nights.  Downtown was filled with bands, people and the Auburn spirit.  The boys soaked in every moment.

On Saturday we continued many traditions: Jared and Bud took the boys to band practice, we all went to the game, Kaki and I left the game early with the boys, and everyone slept hard from exhaustion.

The day was perfect.  An Auburn victory to cap off a great weekend... WAR EAGLE!
