Halloween 2010

Halloween 2010 was wild! The day was busy, but wonderful. After a normal morning, Morris and all his friends headed to a birthday party for Ingram Hughes. It was wild. All the kids were fussy because it was right after nap time. Most of the fussiness was from "head pieces"... Yes, that is correct "head pieces". Every children's costume comes with a "head piece". I am not sure which genius thought of this! If you have a young child, you understand that a "head piece" equals tears and drama. Some of the outfits included: a puppy head (Morris), a dinosaur head (Miller), a Buzz Lightyear helmet/mask (Charlie), and a three eyed monster (Ingram) just to name a few. Getting the boys to wear their "head pieces" included bribery at the highest level: pacifiers, stuffed animals, candy, and mommy's dancing. After the party, most of the crew headed down to lower Country Club for the block party. We had a great time, parents included. The highlight of the block party was an inflatable slide. Our two year old's are used to an inflatable slide, but this one was enormous. It didn't matter to our dare devil boys... off they went. Which meant off went Jared, John, and Casey to help the boys up the steep ladder. I can't tell you how many times Jared, John, and Casey huffed it up the slide carrying a thirty pound child just for ten seconds of fun. The big and little boys were all smiles. Charlie was exhausted after sliding and headed home... not, Morris and Miller. They chased each other in Uncle Ross's yard (Miller's Uncle). Morris pulled Miller's dinosaur tail and thought it was hilarious. Finally, they dumped out a cooler of ice piece by piece throwing it at Casey and Jared. We decided Morris was pooped and ready to go home. After a quick stop at Emmy and Matt's house, we were home lights out for the night with a tired little puppy. The next day Kaki and Bud stopped in a for a minute to top off the festivities and give Morris a sucker, his favorite, for Halloween. I know that Morris will not remember the day, but Jared and I always will. From the crying over "head pieces" to Jared taking Morris up and down the slide... Morris had a great Second Halloween as a puppy dog... woof, woof!
